Santa came to Ephraim!

Well Troy must have been a good boy this year cause he got spoiled by Santa! Santa came to Ephraim a little early before we headed to Oklahoma for Christmas. Troy found a new present under the tree yesterday and asked me about it and I told him Santa brought it early for him since we were leaving and he was good all day till he could open it. He even kept hugging his present! (See pic!) Anyway, my handy little husband went to the hardware store after work and rigged up this little table for him to play with down in the basement. The table is so big! But Troy absolutely loves it. I woke up and couldn't find him this morning and sure enough, he was down in the basement. He probably woke up a little nervous cause when he was cranky last night and wouldn't go to bed, Kev told him Santa would come and take back his train if he didn't listen to his mom and dad. Kevin even "called" Santa on the phone. I wish I had a picture of Troy's face at that moment! Pure terror! Sure enough, he went to bed quickly and of course the first thing he checked on this morning was if Santa had let him keep his train!

Meeting Santa...

This is the first year that Troy is actually into Santa and is understanding what he means---it has been so fun!!! We talked about going to sit on Santa's lap for many days and on the drive over to the mall, Troy kept saying how he was going to "hug Santa and kiss him on this nose & cheeks". He hopped right on his lap and did just that! He asked for a Thomas the Train set and big track, and a cowboy hat like the Wiggles. Santa will have to look for a cowboy hat to fit his little head in Oklahoma next week!

Troy's New Suit!

I couldn't resist buying this little 3 piece suit when I found it last weekend! Every little boy needs a suit right! Well Troy loves it and he was the talk of the church on Sunday. Everyone had to comment on how handsome he looked!

More House Pictures...

Project House

Most of you know that we did a little investment project with my parents over the last few months. There was a 1/2 finished house in our neighborhood that had been sitting there all boarded up for 4 years. The original owner ran out of money and there were many bills left unpaid, therefore, the house just sat there till the collectors released their leans against the house. Anyway, Kevin got the opportunity to buy the house before it went on the market and my parents bought it and got a loan to finish the house. It has been a huge thing for our neighborhood to have the eye sore gone. A cute family (Donny Osmonds nephew & his family) bought the house and we just closed on it on Monday. I am SO glad to have it done since it took a lot of time for Kevin and a lot of single mom time for me. Here are the finished pictures!

Let It Snow!

We were pleasantly suprised last night with a beautiful snowstorm! We work up to close to a foot of snow in our front yard! Troy loved watching it from his window but he didn't like his hands getting cold in his mittens. He definetly needs some better snow gloves! He sure looked cute all bundled up though!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving as we did here in Ephraim! We hosted Thanksgiving dinner this year for Kevin's family and it was a lot of fun. I didn't get a lot of pictures other than my pretty tables that I set!!! I was too busy trying to get everything organized to keep up with pictures!

Here come the Gingerbread Men!

I decided about a month ago that my Christmas tree this year needed a "theme". I had been holding out for my mom to give me her Santa Clause tree which is TO DIE FOR, but it doesn't look like that will happen any time soon :) So I decided to do a Gingerbread Man tree. Of course, I decided that before I even started looking for Gingerbread Men and soon realized that cute ones are very hard to find! After searching everywhere here in Utah, I enlisted my mom's help and she found the ones in the first picture. Then, Stacey called and said to check at Cracker Barrell and I found the ones in the 2nd picture there. The monogramed ones came from the internet from some Christmas shop in Canada! It will be fun hunting for ornaments every year!

Colt's Quilt

Here is the quilt that I made for Baby Colt! I love how it turned out...I wanted it very "baby boyish" if that makes sense! Grandma Madsen binded it for me with lots of love!

New Hobby!

My friend, Stacey, got me into this new stitching hobby...I am so burnt out of scrapbooking I needed something to do that was different, and this I can do while laying on the couch!!! I told Stacey I would post these here for her to see...they aren't perfect but I am so impatient, nothing I do like this will be!

Troy's New Church Outfit

We took these pictures of Troy this morning before church, we just thought he looked too cute and grown up in his new church outfit. I forget how big he is getting until I see pictures like these...I step back and think "WOW, where did the time go!" He didn't want to take his outfit off after church he liked it so much!

Getting fatter....

Hey everyone....just thought I would post my baby progress! I am now in my 3rd trimester! (27 weeks!) I am hoping the holiday season will really speed things up! I have definetly popped out a bit in the last little while. I even had a 10 lb. weight gain last month! Yikes, that better not be a normal thing! We have offically decided to name our baby Colt John Madsen and we are thrilled! There is a lot of sentiment behind the name. The initials will be CJ which most know is my brothers name and initials. Colt is the name that my dad picked out and since we loved it too, we thought it would be nice to let him name the baby since I won't ever name my baby "Richard" or "John" (Sorry, Dad!) And John is after again, CJ's middle name, my Grandpa John and several Uncles on my Dad's side of the family. That said, Dad, this baby is for you!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween is here and we have a little monkey in our house!!! Troy is obsessed with his costume this years, which is a nice change from the last 2 years where he screamed the whole time the costume was on! I loves spotting pumpkins on porches while we drive around in the car or go on our walks and he loved carving his pumpkin with his Dad. We will spend Halloween Day at the town's parade (the Elementry kids walk in it in their costumes) and visiting Dad at work along with Grandparents. We'll hurry home to deliver goodie bags to Troy's neighborhood friends and Dad will take Troy trick or treating while Mom stays home and passes out candy! Happy Halloween everyone!

Wiggles Slippers!

We were at Target last week and I found these cute slippers! I couldn't decide between the Thomas the Train ones or the Wiggle ones since Troy adores both...so I got both! Thomas will have to wait until Christmas though. :) He wears these slippers all over the house and even outside. No more "blue shoes" (his blue Crocs), he wants to wear the Wiggles!

What went on while I was gone!!!??!!

Hey everyone! Well Kev and I just returned home from a Vegas weekend to find some very crazy pictures of Troy's weekend with his grandparents! My mom and dad ("Cookie" & "Papa") stayed with Troy for the weekend and had a ball. It doesn't look like they had any
fun at all does it??!!
