Brett's Game

The New Mexico vs. San Diego State game was an intense one! It came down to the last final minute and the Lobos pulled out with the win! Brett had a great game and it was fun as always to cheer him on. The best part about going to the games is getting to see Brett after the games before they load up on the bus and fly home. He is always so tired from the game but so excited to see us. It is so awesome to see how much Brett loves his family and especially how much he loves my little boys. He is an amazing guy and a great role model for my boys.

We love you Bretty!

Pacific Beach, California

It was so fun to take the boys to the beach and see their reaction to the beach and the ocean! Troy kept playing in the sand and Colt kept eating it!

DISNEYLAND!!!

After waiting somewhat patiently for 9 long months, Troy finally arrived at Disneyland! Anyone who knows him or has talked to him in the last 9 months knows that this is all that has been on his mind! We had an amazing trip to California and have many, many memories! Disneyland was so magical---even Kevin and I felt like kids again! There were times I felt like I was dreaming, like at the nightly Parade of Dreams. We were so lucky to go and have such perfect weather! And we beat the freeway closing from fires by hours! Thank goodness!

Brotherly Love

Just a few pictures of the boys!

Fun at the Messicks!

The first night we got to California, we stayed in Laguna Niguel with one of my best friends from college, Aubrey Messick, and her family. (Yes, she is the one to blame for my accident breaking my back. Why didn't you stop me! JK!) We had a blast with her awesome family and even got to relax by their amazing pool! Someday I will have a backyard oasis in Southern California like the Messicks....oh yeah Erin, wake up! You are dreaming! Thank you Messicks for treating us like part of the family!

Beach Bums

One of my friends just sent this picture she took of the boys sometime this summer at the pool...I had to share cause it was so cute! Two of my good friends here had little boys within 10 days after Colt was born. They are all going to be buddies for life, they have no choice! From left to right it is Colt, Tommy, & Nathan. Aren't they adorable! Colt looks like the sumo baby! I have the best friends in the world down here!!!

Bath Time!

Picture #8

Picture #9

Finally! Picture #10

So you would think that taking a picture of two little boys in the bathtub would be easy, right? WRONG! I had to take 10 pictures to finally get 1 shot of both of the boys looking at the camera! I don't know what it is, but they will never both be looking at the camera at the same time! They must know how much it irritates me to keep taking them,
always getting someone looking away! Oh well, gotta love 'em!

Troy the Builder

Troy got these blocks from Cookie and Papa for his 2nd birthday and no other toy as gotten as much use as these! Troy LOVES to build towers and castles with his blocks on the kitchen floor. But the number one rule is that there is no block playing when Colt is sleeping since it wakes him up when they fall over! He built this castle today and wanted me to take a picture of it and send it to Cookie and Papa. I love how he puts his toys and animals on them and makes "garages" and "pet crates". He is so creative!

Madsen Health Update-Some good but mostly bad!

Well I will just post all of this here instead of sending an email our! Here is our health rundown for anyone who cares!!! Oh and by the way, this is the WAY shortened version!

Kevin-Kev is getting his gallbladder out tomorrow, Thursday the 4th. He has had some bad gallstone attacks that have put him in the ER so this is the best way to fix it. Hopefully it will be a smooth recovery since we had to Disneyland in a little over a week!

Erin-Most of you know about the accident I had in college 6 years ago involving a longboard, a car, and Aubrey Messick :) Well, I broke my back and they never did surgery since I was so young. Recently I went back to the Dr. since my pain has been really bad and they found from a MRI that my spine has slipped out of my pelvis. I know it sounds really bad, good thing I take some good pain pills everyday! So I meet with the surgeon in December and most likely I will have to have a very serious surgery after the first of the year. (2 months in bed with 6 months of not holding my boys! Is that really possible) Plus lots of Physical Therepy. I am preparing for dealing with this and if it turns out there is another alternative, I will be very happy to say the least!

Colt-Well I get the awful mother of the year award! 3 days ago, Colt was sitting on his Bumbo seat on the kitchen counter (as he does everyday) and I ran to help Troy go potty. Sadly, he fell off the kitchen counter reaching for my cell phone. We watched for signs of any problems and he has been fine. So scary but I am glad he is OK. I learned my lesson with the Bumbo seat! Oh, and as I mentioned before, he got his first tooth on Tuesday-Kev thinks the fall off of the counter pushed his tooth out! :)

Troy-Well for once, Troy is 100% healthy! Thank goodness one of us is! Too bad he isn't older so he could take care of his poor family that is falling apart!

Colty-Boy!

Just a few pics of our Colty-Boy!

It's Potty Time at the Madsens!

This is BIG news for us at our house! I had been working with Troy here and there on potty training in the last few months but decided to wait until after our big DisneyLand trip in 2 weeks to really get serious about it. Well last week, Troy told me that you don't wear diapers to DisneyLand, you were "underwears". I couldn't exactly tell him no so we've been working on it for 6 days and I think he's got it down! He's been so good that it has actually been pretty easy. Hopefully it sticks! The last picture is the view he has from his potty seat. He gets 2 Whoppers after he goes potty and the Dinosauar car is for when he has a whole day with no accidents. He actually earned it today!

Sneak Peak!

Here is a little sneak peak of Troy & Colt's Halloween costume! I bet you just can't wait to see the whole thing now!

Cute Boy!

I love these pictures of Colt, probably because it shows how he is starting to grow into that head of his! I can't believe is 8 months old! Time sure does fly! He got his first tooth yesterday which probably explains the sour attitude he has been giving me lately! He better start being nicer to Mommy!
